Welcome to the African Institute for Parliamentary Studies and Public Policy (AIPSAPP), where our core mission revolves around building efficient and effective legislative systems to enhance law making in the newly democratically established parliaments within the continent of Africa; foster good governance and strengthen democratic governance across Africa.
We are committed to facilitating collaboration and exchange of knowledge and experiences among African parliaments, governments, and diverse stakeholders, including citizens, interest groups, and pressure groups.
Our mandate encompasses empowering human capital through capacity building, consultancy services, and policy discourse.
We aim to educate and empower over 5,000 individuals and organizations in the next four years, amplifying our global impact.
Our approach includes:

- 7.Publishing “The Public Policy Gazette,” an annual magazine providing analytical insights and informed discourse on Africa’s governance landscape
Most African Democratic Governance systems are weak and citizens do not yet appreciate the importance of interest and Pressure Groups in shaping their democratic cultures. Consequently citizens have become helpless and dependent on political parties who take advantage of existing challenges to lead them (citizens) towards a change of government only for them (Political Parties) to attain power and continue the same pattern of partisanship without necessarily challenging the governance systems.
AIPSAPP therefore is engaged in identifying legitimately established interest groups within the democratic space in Africa and to strengthen them to know and understand how they can influence policies from the level of formulation, legislation and execution to meet the aspirations of the people involved instead of satisfying the hidden agenda of political elites under the cover of political parties.
We are establishing productive partnerships with esteemed international organizations and governments, including the World Bank, African Development Bank, International Labour Organisation, International Organisation for Migration, USAID, and numerous UN bodies, among many others. Our collaborative endeavors will aim to bring about tangible, enduring transformations and shape the future of policy, legislation and governance across Africa and beyond.”
